Although Halloween Resurrection wasn't a box office failure, it did fail to satisfy fans who felt the new things it did for the series weren't ultimately satisfying nor even remotely close to the heart of Halloween. What the franchise needed was another reboot. For the first time, Halloween got a remake, quasi-prequel, and reimagining. Musician Rob Zombie was brought on to direct a Halloween more terrifying and visceral for the post-Saw horror genre. In 2007, audiences received a graphic, nihilistic vision of Michael Myers, his family, and the innocent teenage babysitters. Did it reignite fans urge for the Halloween series to continue? Following the massive success of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Spielberg and Lucas teamed up once again to craft a fresh and exciting adventure for everyone's favorite treasure hunting professor. Three years after the first film, this movie takes place as a prequel of sorts, placing Indy in the mysterious India with a brand new cast of characters. What begins as a cartoonish adventure, rapidly descends into a festival of paganist horror that had parents up-in-arms. The dark nature of this movie actually led Spielberg to push for the invention and implementation of the PG-13 rating; which would be used only three months later on the movie Red Dawn. So with this installment having radical tone shifts and a paganist worldview is this still a worthy successor and one you should watch? For the first time ever the Ghost in the Shell franchise hit the big screen in a live-action feature film. With a big name attached to it, Scarlett Johansson, slated to play the Major; producers were hoping this would be the anime to live action break into Hollywood many were looking forward to for a long time. With the movie being in production for 9 years, the movie went through many setbacks along the way, including an infamous "whitewashing" controversy. But aside from these setbacks did Ghost in the Shell win over audiences and get the ball rolling for more anime to be adapted into live-action Hollywood blockbusters? As per Ghost in the Shell tradition, it has been 11 years since audiences saw the beloved GitS characters on the big screen. The series had experienced much success on the small screen with a few television series. One of those series, the most recent in fact, Ghost in the Shell Arise decided to release a theatrical tie-in to cap off a storyline started in the 5th part of the Arise series. With that in mind, does this work as a standalone theatrical release, especially for those who haven't seen any of Arise?
