Your Guide to Soldier (1998) | The Lost Blade Runner "Side-quel"
Thursday Sep 10, 2020
Thursday Sep 10, 2020
Shortly after the release of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, screenplay writer David Webb Peoples spun off his initial opening for the film into an entire script. The lost Blade Runner "side-quel" (taking place meanwhile in the Blade Runner world) sat dormant for 15 years. In 1998, director Paul W.S. Anderson brought the film to life with the star power of Kurt Russell. Where does this film exactly belong between Scott and Villeneuve's world and why has it been forgotten all these years? Before our full review next Monday, join Allen as he guides you through the production, behind-the-scenes drama, box-office, and impact of Soldier. Every series needs a second reboot...right? Well according to critics, audiences, and the box-office, the answer (for this film) is YES! 16 years after the dismal fourth entry, the fifth film decided to completely reboot the series with brand-new characters, a new location--China, and a few extra surprises. Taking the same story as the original '84 film, Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith produced this movie as a star vehicle for their son Jayden Smith. Why do some critics consider this remake better than original? Join Corbin and Allen as they review The Karate Kid to find out!

Every franchise needs a reboot...right? Well according to critics, audiences, and the box-office, the answer, for this film, is HECK NO! 5 years after the disappointing Part III, the fourth film switched to some serious girl power, brought Miyagi to the East coast, and Daniel Larusso is nowhere to be found. In what would be Pat Morita's final performance as Mr. Miyagi, why did this film shut down the series for 16 years? Join Corbin and Allen as they review The Next Karate Kid to find out!

Best and Worst Movies of 2019 | Corbin and Allen's Picks
Wednesday Aug 19, 2020
Wednesday Aug 19, 2020
Despite 2019 ending eight months ago, it doesn't quite feel that way. Does it? While we haven't seen a new theatrical movie released in many months, Corbin and Allen decided to take a look back at the year in cinema of 2019. They give their highs and lows for the best and worst movies released that year and those released in prior years (but were still new to them). Also, they remind you of movies you forgot came out last year.
