4 years after the poor reception of Candyman 2, the IP was brought direct to VHS for the first time. Bringing in an all new-cast and crew while maintaining continuity with the sequel and drastically changing character arcs was an odd yet somewhat gutsy move. When Corbin and Allen learned of its VHS origins they shuddered as to what this third installment had in store for them.
