Monday Sep 24, 2018
Monday Sep 24, 2018
27 years is all it took to finish the Three Mothers trilogy Italian master of horror Dario Argento began in 1977. After the 1980 release of Inferno, fans expected a third and final installment, at the very least, within the decade...they were sorely mistaken. Once Argento decided to return to finish the trilogy in the early 2000's, the hype surrounding the film reached a level never enjoyed by its two predecessors, Suspiria and Inferno, during their theatrical run. Mother of Tears owes its success to Suspiria which had become a cult classic. But is Mother of Tears a worthy final installment to the Three Mothers trilogy? Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss the film to find out!

Inferno (1980) | Movie Review | Second in the Three Mothers Trilogy
Monday Sep 17, 2018
Monday Sep 17, 2018
Three years after Dario Argento's modest success, Suspiria, the Italian director returned to the pyschofantastical world of the Three Mothers. Inferno follows a man in America looking for his sister who just so happens to live in the second Mother's lair. Argento's wife, Daria Nicolodi, decided to leave the writers chair on the set of Suspiria so she could star as one of the leads in this followup. Toning down the visual flair and opting for a funky soundtrack makes the sequel pull some punches Suspiria knocked out of the park, but Argento channels some famous horror directors to create some unforgettable sequences. Does Inferno live up to the hype Suspiria has generated in the past 40 years? Is Inferno the oft-overlooked cult classic that should sit right there with it's older sister? Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss the movie to find out!

Famed Italian master of horror, Dario Argento, brought his terrifying vision of bright colors and lights with a sinister score from Goblin to the United States big screen. In 1977, the horror genre had stalled with uninspiried sequels such as Exorcist II: The Heretic. Alas, horror came into its own niche with independent films such as Eraserhead and The Hills Have Eyes and, of course, Suspiria. Considered one of the greatest horror films of all time, Argento weaves a nightmarish vision of wild colors, witches, and ballet dancers. With unforgettable craft, Argento's vision of horror is unparalleled. Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss the first installment in Argento's Three Mothers trilogy leading up to the remake of Suspiria this November!
