►Start with Your Guide to A Quiet Place https://silverscreenguide.podbean.com/e/your-guide-to-a-quiet-place-2018/
It had been 6 years since John Krasinski made his final appearance as the loveable Jim Halpert on one of the most popular TV shows, The Office. He just signed on to be Tom Clancy's action, analyst Jack Ryan when he got the call, offering to produce this film. Well, the script made such an impact that he came on as writer, director and actor. Starring alongside real life wife Emily Blunt and working on a shoe-string budget, this script written by mid-western college roommates went on to earn an Academy Award nomination. Corbin and Allen couldn't stay quiet about this movie any longer so join them for their review of A Quiet Place!
Question after the show: How would you watch movies or listen to podcasts if you lived in a quiet place world?

First start with Your Guide to Kong: Skull Island https://silverscreenguide.podbean.com/e/your-guide-to-kong-skull-island-2017/
What's better than Quicksilver and Wanda Maximoff fighting a gigantic lizard? How about Samuel L. Jackson reenacting Apocalypse Now with a giant ape? With a fresh, new director bringing a unique idea to the Kong mythos, audiences and critics were excited to see the King return to the big screen. Placing the second piece in the Godzilla vs Kong universe, audiences weren't treated to a direct sequel to Godzilla but rather an interquel setting the stage for the titans to fight! Is this one of Kong's best films or a cheap knock-off of Apocalypse Now? Join Corbin and Allen as they review Kong: Skull Island to find out!
Question after the show: Is this a worthy resurrection of King Kong or a swing and miss?

Creed (2015) | Movie Review | Seventh in Rocky/Creed Movie Review Series
Monday Dec 21, 2020
Monday Dec 21, 2020
►Start with your guide to Creed https://silverscreenguide.podbean.com/e/your-guide-to-creed-2015/
Despite intending Rocky Balboa (2006) aka Rocky VI to be the Italian Stallion's last hoorah...turns out his story isn't quite finished. Fan fiction turned reality, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler's dream came true when he was given the greenlight by Sylvester Stallone himself to create a spin-off from the long running franchise. Instead of once again focusing on Balboa, this time our main protagonist would be the son of Apollo Creed...a character audiences hadn't seen in 30 years. Not only resurrecting but spinning-off an old but memorable franchise is a risky move. Does Coogler's fresh vision take the series into new rounds? Join Corbin and Allen as they review Creed to find out!
Question after the show: Is Creed the best movie in the Rocky franchise?

After Nolan's extreme indie hit, Following, him and his brother decided to adapt a short story his brother wrote titled Memento Mori. Following in the steps of Quentin Tarantino by telling a non-linear story, Nolan went even further by telling part of the story chronologically in black and white and the other half in color in reverse order. This brilliant, inventive method garnered him his first Academy Award nomination for Writing. Comfortably residing in the top 100 greatest films of all time, Nolan's sophomore sleeper hit isn't one audiences have forgotten. Join Corbin and Allen as they review Memento to find out how unforgettable this film truly is.
