Glass (2019) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Thirteenth Film
Monday Dec 16, 2019
Monday Dec 16, 2019
2 years after Shyamalan's most successful film since The Sixth Sense, Glass promised to conclude the secret superhero trilogy started nearly 20 years ago. With Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson reprising their roles, and, of course, James McAvoy returning as "The Beast" this film looked to be one heck of a showdown. But did the film deliver the reinvigorated Shyamalan hype its predecessor promised? Join Corbin and Allen as they review Glass to find out!
Join the discussion-Comment below! Question after the show: Is Glass a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy? Why or why not?

Split (2017) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Twelfth Film
Monday Dec 09, 2019
Monday Dec 09, 2019
Capitalizing off his surprise success with The Visit, Shyamalan took audiences by storm with his knockout comeback, Split. Considered Shyamalan's second greatest film, right behind The Sixth Sense, 18 years later and his career is back on the rise. With all-star performances--which in Corbin's opinion should've garnered some Oscar nods (including a few for Shyamalan himself)--Split is a film not to be reckoned with. And who saw THIS Shyamalan twist coming?! But! Are Corbin and Allen split over their views on the film? Join Corbin and Allen to find out as they review Split!

The Visit (2015) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Eleventh Film
Monday Dec 02, 2019
Monday Dec 02, 2019
2 years after what many consider to be Shyamalan's most boring film--he returned to what put him on the map in the first place--horror. Providing his own stamp on the waning 'found footage' genre, Shyamalan pulled off the impossible by making a highly successful movie; not simply financially but also critically. What many consider to be Shyamalan's comeback, The Visit put the director back in moviegoers good graces. But now that the found footage fad is dead, does this film still provide enough scares, drama, and twists to be consider one of the director's best? Join Corbin and Allen as they review The Visit to find out!

After Earth (2013) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Tenth Film
Monday Nov 25, 2019
Monday Nov 25, 2019
With his last film considered his worst to-date--Shyamalan had no where to go but up...so, he chose to go to the stars. Taking an unexpected three year break from filmmaking, Shyamalan returned with a wholly original story within the science-fiction genre. Tapping A-list star Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith--he pairs the duo as father and son on a desperate mission gone awry 1,000 years after humans have abandoned Earth. Surprise, audiences and critics consider this to be his second worst film! But what do Corbin and Allen think? Their ratings my surprise you! Join Corbin and Allen as they review After Earth to find out!

Monday Nov 18, 2019
2 years after Shyamalan's atomic bomb at the box office and with critics/audiences--he decided to go big or go home. Taking on one of the greatest, and at the time, most popular TV properties of all time--the once acclaimed director set his sights on bringing a live action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender to the big screen. Banking on a runaway success trilogy--Shayamalan had the backing of some of the biggest producers in Hollywood such as Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. Opening on the United State's biggest holiday weekend--July 4th--there was a lot riding on Shyamalan's career. With a tepid opening weekend morsel of $40 million and a devastating 5% approval from Rotten Tomatoes (compared with the TV show's 100%)--no sixth sense could've seen this coming. Nearly 10 years later is the film really that awful or is it in fact a fun fantasy film with impressive CGI? Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss Avatar: The Last Airbender to find out!
Join the discussion! Question after the show: Would you want Shyamalan to finish the trilogy? Why or why not?

The Happening (2008) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Eighth Film
Monday Nov 11, 2019
Monday Nov 11, 2019
2 years after Shyamalan's reality bending modern-day fairy-tale flopped with audiences and critics alike--he decided to return to his thriller roots--this time to put his own spin on a 1950's sci-fi flick. Not only did he return to form but he also ventured into R rated territory making this his one and only, no children under 17 film. Touting an all-star cast headlined by Mark Wahlberg and Zoey Deschanel this promised to be Shyamalan's bounce back into commercial acclaim...except it wasn't. Considered one of the worst films of all time--this sunk the Academy Award nominated director even lower among peers and fans. But that was 11 years ago. Has The Happening actually aged well and could this be a forgotten hair-raising piece of horror? Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss The Happening to find out!

Lady in the Water (2006) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Seventh Film
Monday Nov 04, 2019
Monday Nov 04, 2019
2 years after his moderately successful quasi-period piece, The Village, the seemingly unstoppable master of thrills turns his previous plot on its head. Blending fairy tales with reality--Shyamalan attempts mythical world-building with an all star cast. At the time of the release of the film it was critically panned and many consider this to be the beginning of the end for Shyamalan (until his new beginning). I, for one, being merely 11 years old, was frightened of the trailers and wanted no part in seeing this film. 13 years have passed since then so is this the scary movie Corbin thought it was or is this actually a film gaining more prominence in the director's oeuvre as time goes on? Join Corbin and Allen as they review Lady in the Water to find out!
Join the discussion! Question after the show: Is this a cheesy Shyamalan film or is it actually a praiseworthy modern day fairy tale? Why or why not?
