►Start with Your Guide to Halloween Kills https://mcdn.podbean.com/mf/web/knerzh/halloween_kills_BGbkd6c.mp3
We've waited 3 long years to see how Michael escaped Laurie's burning house. Due to COVID pushing this twelfth installment back a full year, we should be reviewing Halloween Ends this weekend; instead, we finally get what Corbin and Allen call a Halloween movie like they've never seen before. Unfortunately, it's received poor reviews--placing it smack in the middle of the twelve entries. Being a divisive entry (but aren't they all?) begs the question should Michael Myers be killed once and for all? Join Corbin and Allen as they review Halloween Kills to find out!
Question after the show: Is this the best or worst installment in the franchise? Or is it right in the middle for you?

Halloween is back after almost a decade of being absent from the big screen—the longest hiatus ever in the history of the series. For the third time the series has broken continuity to make this latest film a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 original cult classic thereby ignoring all previous films. With John Carpenter returning for the first time since Halloween III (which doesn’t really count) this installment is noteworthy because of his blessing, creative influence, along with a fresh new score composed by Carpenter himself. Also, Jamie Lee Curtis is back after 16 years—once again reprising her role as Laurie Strode. Halloween is one of Silver Screen Guide’s most anticipated films of the year and a long expected return to the original form of the series by most fans. Corbin and Allen are excited to discuss with you Halloween!
We’ve got an October surprise for you (of the good kind!); we released our First Man review the latest film from the creator of La La Land--in theaters now!

Rob Zombie's Halloween II (2009) | Movie Review
Wednesday Oct 03, 2018
Wednesday Oct 03, 2018
Two years after Rob Zombie brought his reimagined remake of Halloween to the big screen, audiences weren't asking for a sequel but the profitability of the first warranted a second. Halloween II eschewed all rules and conventions of the series to bring a supernatural nightmarish vision of gratuitous profanity and Nihilism of the Myers family. Zombie's startling film made audiences feel as if they hadn't even seen a Halloween movie, making this one of the most despised installments of the franchise. Nearly a decade later, has viewers opinion changed on this possibly misinterpreted entry? Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss the last entry in their retrospective series before they review John Carpenter's new Halloween this October!

Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007) | Movie Review
Tuesday Sep 04, 2018
Tuesday Sep 04, 2018
Although Halloween Resurrection wasn't a box office failure, it did fail to satisfy fans who felt the new things it did for the series weren't ultimately satisfying nor even remotely close to the heart of Halloween. What the franchise needed was another reboot. For the first time, Halloween got a remake, quasi-prequel, and reimagining. Musician Rob Zombie was brought on to direct a Halloween more terrifying and visceral for the post-Saw horror genre. In 2007, audiences received a graphic, nihilistic vision of Michael Myers, his family, and the innocent teenage babysitters. Did it reignite fans urge for the Halloween series to continue? Join Corbin and Allen to find out!

Halloween Resurrection (2002) | Movie Review
Tuesday Aug 07, 2018
Tuesday Aug 07, 2018
Three years after the successful reboot to the Halloween series, the producers followed it with...internet reality TV?! Briefly picking up the new storyline started in H20 and then quickly killing it; Resurrection follows six teenagers as they goof around in Michael's house all while filming for Dangertainment's reality show, but Michael returns home, picking them off one by one. This installment actually wasn't a failure at the box-office but it was harshly scorned by fans of the series. 16 years later is there still some fun to be had with the most reviled installment in the Halloween franchise? Join Corbin and Allen as they go digitally into the world of Mikey Myers to find out!

Halloween: H20 Twenty Years Later (1998) | Movie Review
Monday Jul 09, 2018
Monday Jul 09, 2018
3 years after the abysmal Halloween 6, which strayed so far from its roots that fans couldn't even recognize it as a "Halloween" movie...producers and writers for the next installement, in an unprecendented move, decided to scrap Halloween 4, 5, and 6 from canon, essentially meaning they "officially" never happened, and instead make a new film that served as a direct sequel to Halloween II. For the first time since Halloween II, Jamie Lee Curtis returned to the series to reprise her role as Laurie Strode. Michael hasn't been seen for 20 years, but decides to show up on her son's 17th birthday. Promising a conclusion to the series, many fans view this as the true Halloween III, capping off the perfect trilogy of the Halloween series. Is this the best "Halloween" since the original? Does it provide a satisfying conclusion to the series on the 20th anniversary of the original that started it all? Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss the 7th Halloween installment to find out!

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) | Movie Review
Monday Jun 11, 2018
Monday Jun 11, 2018
The 6th (or 5th depending on how you're counting) Halloween movie released 6 years after Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers making this at the time the longest gap between movies in the franchise. Continuing and concluding the "Curse of Thorn" storyline, this movie promised definitive answers as to why Michael murdered his sister Halloween night when he was a mere child and why he attacked random babysitters nearly two decades after that. Does Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers provide satisfying answers to the decades-long mystery of the William Shatner mask-wearing murderer? Join Corbin and Allen to find out as they give their review for not only the theatrical cut but the recently released notorious Producer's Cut which used to only be available as a VHS bootleg!

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) | Movie Review
Monday May 14, 2018
Monday May 14, 2018
One year after the harrowing events of The Return of Michael Myers, the titular character is back for revenge. With a brand new crew and a slightly retconned vision, Michael, Jamie, Loomis, and the mysterious Man in Black, face off in their deadliest adventure yet. (Boy that sounds like a bad commercial). Join Corbin and Allen to find out whether this new installment is a worthy sequel in the new trilogy or is revenge, not enough?

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) | Movie Review
Monday Apr 02, 2018
Monday Apr 02, 2018
Seven years after the unsatisfying absence of Michael Myers, John Carpenter and Debra Hill were coming back to write and produce a new Halloween film with a surprising spin (listen to the episode to find out what it is!)...except Moustapha Akkad didn't like it. With Carpenter and Hill exiting the franchise (seemingly for good...until 30 years later that is!) a brand new team was brought on to return everyone's favorite silent slasher to the big screen with more action, explosions, fright, excitement, and twists! Is Halloween 4 a worthy comeback? Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss the movie to find out!
